In many worldbuilding renderings, Môemia is a coastal or highland region on a fabricated continent, with a longue durée history that blends Bronze Age traits with later urban development. The name is a constructed root chosen by authors to provide a neutral label for the people and their language.

The Môemian language is typically depicted as an agglutinative or polysynthetic tongue with a robust evidential system and a preference for suffixing. Phonologies often feature a mid to open vowel inventory, consonant clusters, and occasional vowel length contrast.
