Méretek

Méretek is the Hungarian term for dimensions or sizes. It refers to the measurements that define the extent of an object, typically including length, width, height, and depth. The form is the plural of the noun méret, and it is used in a wide range of contexts to indicate how large something is or what space it occupies.

In everyday life and commerce, méretek appear in product catalogs, catalogs, and packaging to show the available sizes of a item. In clothing and footwear, for example, people encounter terms like ruha- vagy cipőméretek (clothing or shoe sizes). In real estate and interior design, méretek describe room dimensions, furniture fits, and spatial planning. Technical fields also use méretek to specify component dimensions, tolerances, and overall fit within assemblies.

Measurement in Hungary commonly uses the metric system, so méretek are expressed in units such as millimeters and centimeters, with meters used for larger dimensions. International standards and EU sizing conventions influence how méretek are presented in cross-border trade and manufacturing.
