Muotoon

Muotoon is the illative case form of the Finnish noun muoto, which means form or shape. In Finnish grammar the illative marks movement toward or into something, and for muoto the illative suffix is -oon, yielding muotoon. This form literally means into a form or into the form of.

In Finnish usage, muotoon is used when describing a transformation or formatting process that renders something into a specific form. It answers the question mihin muotoon? (into which form?). It appears in contexts such as data processing, documentation, or design, where information or material is intended to be presented, stored, or arranged in a particular format. It denotes the direction of the change into a form rather than the state of being in that form, which would be muodossa (in a form).
