Muotokiviä

Muotokiviä is a Finnish term that translates to "sculpture stones" or "shaped stones." It refers to natural rock formations that have been sculpted by geological processes over long periods, often resulting in unusual and artistic shapes. These formations are typically found in areas with specific geological conditions, such as regions with strong winds, flowing water, or glacial activity.

The shaping of muotokiviä is a slow and gradual process. Wind erosion, known as aeolian erosion, plays a significant role in many cases. When wind carrying abrasive particles like sand or silt repeatedly strikes a rock, it wears away softer parts, leaving behind more resistant material.
