Mosaika

Mosaika is a term used to describe a type of artwork or decorative surface created by assembling small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. These pieces, often referred to as tesserae, are meticulously arranged and adhered to a base surface to form a larger image or pattern. Mosaics have a long and rich history, dating back to ancient civilizations in Mesopotamia and Egypt. The ancient Greeks and Romans were particularly renowned for their intricate mosaic work, often adorning floors, walls, and ceilings with mythological scenes, geometric designs, and everyday life depictions.

The technique involves careful planning and execution. Artists select tesserae based on their color, texture, and shape, and then arrange them according to a pre-determined design.
