Moorreesburg is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, situated approximately 120 kilometers north of Cape Town. It is located in the Swartland region, an area known for its agricultural activities, particularly wheat farming. The town was established in 1874 and named after Reverend Michiel van den Berg, whose nickname was "Moorrees".
