Mobiilinäytöt are the display screens found on mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and feature phones. These screens are crucial for user interaction, displaying everything from text and images to videos and games. The technology behind mobile screens has evolved significantly over the years, impacting device functionality, battery life, and visual experience.

Early mobile phones often featured monochrome LCD screens with limited resolution and color depth. As mobile technology advanced, so did screen capabilities. Today, the most common display technologies are Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED). LCD screens work by passing light through a layer of liquid crystals, which can be polarized to control the amount of light passing through, creating images. OLED screens, on the other hand, use organic compounds that emit light when an electric current is applied, eliminating the need for a backlight and resulting in deeper blacks and potentially more vibrant colors.

Key characteristics of mobile screens include resolution, which determines the sharpness and detail of images; pixel density, measured in pixels per inch (PPI), indicating how closely packed the pixels are; brightness, affecting visibility in different lighting conditions; and color accuracy, ensuring true-to-life color reproduction. Touchscreen technology is another integral part of modern mobiilinäytöt, allowing users to interact directly with the device using gestures like tapping, swiping, and pinching. Capacitive touchscreens, which detect changes in capacitance, are the predominant type used today. Screen durability and protection, often provided by materials like Corning Gorilla Glass, are also important considerations for user experience and device longevity.
