Common methods for separating mixtures include filtration, evaporation, distillation, chromatography, and magnetism. The ease of separation depends on the specific mixture and the properties of its constituents. Understanding mixtures is fundamental in chemistry as it forms the basis for distinguishing between different types of matter and for developing methods to purify substances.
