Mistflower

Mistflower refers to a group of flowering plants belonging to the genus *Conoclinium*. These plants are native to North America and are often found in arid and semi-arid regions. The most common species, *Conoclinium coelestinum*, is also known by the common name blue mistflower or wild ageratum.

Mistflowers are characterized by their clusters of small, fuzzy, lavender-blue to purplish flowers that bloom from late summer into fall. These flower heads often give the plant a hazy, misty appearance, hence the name. The foliage is typically aromatic, with a sage-like scent. They are herbaceous perennials that can spread to form dense colonies, often found in disturbed areas, along roadsides, and in open woodlands.
