The process of minting involves generating new units of a cryptocurrency in compliance with the blockchain’s underlying protocol. In many blockchain systems, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, new coins are minted through a process called mining, where participants solve complex mathematical puzzles to validate transactions and secure the network. In these cases, miners are rewarded with newly minted coins as an incentive for their computational efforts.
