Minmetals

Minmetals, short for China Minmetals Corporation, is a Chinese state-owned enterprise and one of the world's largest metals trading and processing groups. The company operates across the metals value chain, including exploration and mining, smelting and refining, trading, logistics, and financial services. It plays a central role in supplying ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and related products to Chinese manufacturing and global markets.

Minmetals traces its origins to mid-20th-century state planning for metals procurement and production. It was reorganized into a centralized corporation that is supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council. As a state-owned enterprise, decision making and strategic direction are subject to government oversight and policy directions.
