Minia

Minia, also spelled Minya or El-Minya, is the capital city of the Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt. It lies along the Nile in the Middle Egypt region and functions as the administrative, economic, and cultural center of the governorate.

Located roughly 250 kilometers south of Cairo, Minia has a diverse population with a mix of Muslim and Coptic Christian communities. The city serves as a regional hub for education, commerce, and services, and it supports a surrounding agricultural area where crops such as sugar cane, cotton, and cereals are produced.

The area around Minia is rich in history and archaeology.
