Mikroprismakalvot

Mikroprismakalvot, often referred to as microprism films, are optical films characterized by their microscopic prismatic structures. These structures are typically embossed or molded onto the surface of a transparent polymer substrate. The primary function of microprism films is to manipulate the direction of light. They achieve this through the geometric arrangement of their tiny prism facets, which can redirect light rays at specific angles.

These films find application in various optical systems. One common use is in enhancing the brightness of displays, particularly in liquid crystal displays (LCDs). By redirecting ambient light or emitted light back towards the viewer, they can improve perceived brightness and contrast, leading to a more visible screen, especially in brightly lit environments. This is often achieved by a light-redirecting layer.

Another application is in glare reduction. The micro-prismatic surface can diffuse or scatter incoming light in a controlled manner, reducing the intensity of reflections and improving visual comfort. In some contexts, they are also used for privacy filters, where the prism angle is designed to limit the viewing angle of a screen. The precise shape and arrangement of the micro-prisms determine the film's optical properties and its suitability for a particular application. Manufacturing processes for these films often involve precision molding or embossing techniques to create the intricate micro-scale features.
