MgTe

Magnesium telluride (MgTe) is a binary intermetallic compound of magnesium and tellurium. It crystallizes in the hexagonal NiAs structure type. MgTe is a semiconductor material with a band gap of approximately 0.4 eV, though reported values vary. It is a relatively soft, dark gray solid that is insoluble in water but soluble in acids.
