MetadataPanels

MetadataPanels are a user interface element commonly found in software applications that deal with digital assets, such as photo editors, video editors, and file management systems. Their primary function is to display and allow users to edit the descriptive information, or metadata, associated with a selected file or object. These panels typically reside within the main application window, often in a sidebar or a dedicated tab.

The content within a MetadataPanel can vary widely depending on the application and the type of file being managed. Common metadata fields include file name, date created, date modified, file size, camera model and settings (for images), author, title, keywords, ratings, and copyright information. Advanced applications may also display more technical metadata like EXIF data, IPTC information, or XMP tags.

Users interact with MetadataPanels to organize, search, and filter their digital collections. By adding or modifying metadata, users can create searchable tags, categorize content, and provide essential context that might not be visually apparent from the file itself.
