Merevedéssel

Merevedéssel is a Hungarian term referring to the physiological process of penile erection. It describes the engorgement of the penis with blood, leading to its stiffening and enlargement. This process is essential for sexual intercourse.

The mechanism of merevedéssel involves a complex interplay of neurological, vascular, and hormonal factors. Sexual stimulation, whether physical or psychological, triggers the release of neurotransmitters in the brain and local nerves. These signals cause the relaxation of smooth muscle tissue in the arteries of the penis. As these arteries widen, blood flow into the corpora cavernosa, the spongy erectile tissues within the penis, increases significantly. Simultaneously, the veins that drain blood away from the penis are compressed, trapping the blood and maintaining the erection.

Merevedéssel can be influenced by various factors, including age, psychological state, overall health, and certain medications. While a normal physiological response, difficulties achieving or maintaining an erection, known as merevedési zavar, can occur and may indicate underlying health issues. These issues can range from psychological factors like stress and anxiety to physical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or hormonal imbalances.
