Membránion

Membránion is a theoretical subatomic particle that has been proposed in some extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics. The concept of a membránion arises from theories that involve extra spatial dimensions, often referred to as brane-world scenarios. In these models, our observable universe is envisioned as a "brane" embedded within a higher-dimensional space, sometimes called the "bulk."

According to these theories, particles could exist in either the bulk or on the brane. A membránion would be a particle that primarily resides in the bulk but can interact with particles on our brane. These interactions might be weak, making membránions difficult to detect directly. Their existence is speculative and has not been experimentally confirmed.

The potential properties of membránions depend heavily on the specific theoretical framework in which they are proposed. Some theories suggest they could mediate new forces or contribute to phenomena such as dark matter.
