Membranare
Membranare is a term used in some Romance-language scientific and technical contexts to denote the act of forming, enclosing, or coating with a membrane. In biology, it refers to processes that generate a membrane around a structure, such as the formation of cellular membranes during growth, vesicle budding, or encapsulation of particles to create vesicular or vesicle-like compartments. In materials science and pharmaceutical technology, membranare describes methods for applying a semi-permeable polymer layer around a core particle or droplet to produce a membrane-coated material such as microcapsules or liposomes.
Etymology and usage: the word is built from membrana, the Latin root for membrane, with the verb
Context and applications: membranare is often discussed in the context of cell biology, drug delivery, and filtration
