Megalopterus

Megalopterus is a genus of large pterosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 155 to 145 million years ago. The genus is known from several well-preserved fossils found in Europe, particularly in Germany and England. Megalopterus is one of the largest known pterosaurs, with a wingspan estimated to be around 10 meters (33 feet).

The genus is characterized by its large size, robust skull, and distinctive teeth. Megalopterus had a long, narrow snout filled with sharp, serrated teeth, which were likely used for catching and tearing prey. The teeth are unique among pterosaurs, as they are not serrated on the edges but rather have a series of small, sharp points along their length.

Megalopterus is believed to have been a carnivorous predator, feeding on a variety of prey, including fish and other small animals. Its large size and powerful jaws would have made it a formidable predator in its environment.
