Meelalahkusehäirete, also known as dissociative disorders, are a group of mental health conditions characterized by a disruption in the usually integrated functions of consciousness, memory, identity, emotion, perception, body representation, motor control, and behavior. These disorders are often a response to trauma, such as abuse or neglect, as the mind dissociates to cope with overwhelming experiences.
