MddI

MddI, also known as Myelin-associated glycoprotein-like 1, is a protein encoded by the MDD1 gene in humans. It is a transmembrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. MddI is primarily expressed in the central nervous system, where it plays a role in the development and maintenance of myelin sheaths. Myelin is a fatty substance that insulates nerve fibers, allowing for efficient transmission of electrical signals.
