Matterjoghatóság is a Hungarian term that translates to "legal standing" or "capacity to be a party to legal proceedings" in English. It refers to the legal ability of a person or entity to initiate or be the subject of a lawsuit. This concept is fundamental to the administration of justice, ensuring that only those with a legitimate interest or involvement in a matter can participate in legal proceedings.

In Hungary, legal standing is generally held by natural persons, legal persons such as companies and foundations, and certain other entities recognized by law.
