Matschie
Matschie is a genus of mammals native to New Guinea. The most well-known species within this genus is Matschie's tree kangaroo, Dendrolagus matschiei. This arboreal marsupial is characterized by its reddish-brown fur, lighter underside, and long, bushy tail which aids in balance as it navigates trees. They possess powerful limbs and sharp claws adapted for climbing.
Matschie's tree kangaroos inhabit the tropical rainforests of the Huon Peninsula in northeastern Papua New Guinea.
