Matriphagous

Matriphagous refers to a form of filial cannibalism where offspring consume their own mother. This behavior has been observed in various species, particularly insects, where it plays a role in the reproductive cycle and population dynamics. The act typically occurs after the mother has laid her eggs and often dies shortly thereafter, with her offspring then consuming her remains.
