Materiáli

Materiáli is a term used in Hungarian technical language to refer to materials—substances or components used in the creation of products, structures, or systems. The word is the plural form of materiál and is used across engineering, manufacturing, and science to discuss the properties, performance, and suitability of these substances for specific applications.

Materials are classified by composition, structure, and use. Major classes include metals and alloys (such as steel and aluminum), polymers (such as polyethylene and polycarbonate), ceramics (such as silicon carbide and porcelain), composites (such as fiber-reinforced plastics), and natural materials (such as wood and stone). Advanced materials, including semiconductors, nanomaterials, and energy-related materials, also play a key role in modern technology.

The selection and study of materiáli rely on a range of properties, including mechanical (strength, hardness, ductility, toughness), physical (density, melting point, phase stability), chemical (corrosion resistance, reactivity), and functional properties (thermal and electrical conductivity, optical behavior, magnetism).
