Matematicky

Matematicky is a term used in Czech and Slovak to mean in a mathematical way or mathematically. It is an adverb derived from the noun matematika (mathematics) and the adjective matematický (mathematical). In writing, matematicky specifies that a statement, proof, or procedure follows from mathematical principles rather than informal reasoning.

Morphology and usage: In Czech and Slovak, adverbs of manner are often formed from adjectives, so the adjective matematický becomes the adverb matematicky. The form is common in mathematical, scientific, and academic prose. It can describe how a result is obtained or how a claim is justified—for example, a statement that is matematicky podložené (mathematically substantiated) or a proof carried out matematicky (mathematically). It is distinct from related adverbs such as logicky (logically) or empiricky (empirically).
