Maodun
Maodun, commonly known as Modu Chanyu, was a prominent Xiongnu ruler who founded and centralized the Xiongnu Empire in the late 3rd and early 2nd centuries BCE. He is traditionally dated to have reigned circa 209–174 BCE and is regarded as the first to unify the eastern Xiongnu tribes into a centralized confederation, establishing the chanyu as the supreme sovereign.
