Malumotda

Malumotda is a term in Uzbek that functions as the locative form of the noun malumot (information, data). It literally means “in information” or “in the data” and is used to indicate location, context, or scope within information sources. Grammatically, the suffix -da marks the locative case, commonly used with nouns to express “in,” “at,” or “inside.” In practice, malumotda appears in both everyday speech and formal text to point to content contained within a document, database, or dataset.

In information technology and data management, malumotda is used to describe where data resides or how it is organized. For example, metadata catalogs may note that a particular record is stored malumotda within a given dataset. In linguistics and Uzbek grammar, malumotda helps illustrate phrase structure and information structuring in sentences, indicating that a referenced piece of information is located within a broader set of data.

The term is closely related to ma’lumot (information) and ma’lumotlar (information/data in the plural) and forms part of the standard Uzbek lexicon describing data localization. It is used across domains, including education, journalism, and information science, to convey the location of information within sources, documents, or systems.
