Makujen

Makujen is a fictional ethnolinguistic group used in scholarly exercises and world-building to illustrate cultural diversity. In typical renderings, Makujen communities live in the Makuj Archipelago, a chain of tropical islands in the eastern seas. Society is described as kin-based, with clans, customary marine tenure, and village councils guiding communal life. The economy combines fishing, small-scale farming, and crafts, while coastal villages maintain navigational and boat-building skills.

The Makujen language is the indigenous tongue sustained by oral tradition and local schooling.
