Makseprofiili

Makseprofiili (payment profile) is a structured collection of data and preferences that define how a user or organization pays for goods and services within a payment service provider or merchant system. It is stored by the service and used to streamline transactions, improve checkout speed, and enforce consistent payment rules across channels. The concept is common in online shopping, marketplaces, and business-to-business platforms.

A makseprofiili typically includes: preferred payment methods (cards, bank transfers, digital wallets), billing and shipping addresses, currencies and language, and contact details; stored payment tokens or masked card data; recurring payment mandates; transaction limits; fraud risk indicators and authentication rules; and consent or data-retention preferences. It may also record merchant-specific settings such as payment opt-ins, settlement accounts, or reconciliation identifiers.

Usage and security: When a customer proceeds to checkout, the system can automatically apply the makseprofiili to prefill payment data, select the default method, and request appropriate authentication. Users or administrators can update the profile as payment methods change or security requirements evolve. Privacy and security are governed by applicable laws and standards (for example GDPR and PCI DSS), with encryption, access controls, and data minimization; data subject rights may include viewing, correcting, or deleting the profile.
