Makkiyah
Makkiyah refers to chapters of the Quran revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in Mecca. These chapters were revealed during the Meccan period of his prophethood, which spanned approximately thirteen years before the Hijra (migration) to Medina. The Makkiyah chapters are generally characterized by their focus on foundational aspects of Islam. This includes establishing the oneness of God (Tawhid), the concept of prophethood, the reality of the afterlife and divine judgment, and warnings against disbelief and polytheism. They often contain vivid imagery of Paradise and Hell, aiming to inspire awe and contemplation regarding accountability for one's deeds.
