Maapuoleisella

Maapuoleisella (also known as tapir-fish) is a genus of fish in the family Melanotaeniidae. It is a species of freshwater fish that is endemic to the island of New Guinea.

Maapuoleisella are small fish that typically reach a length of 5-6 centimeters. They have a slender body with a vertical stripe running along the middle of their back, and are characterized by their distinctive tapir-like snout.
