Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, commonly abbreviated as MNIT Jaipur, is a public technical university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It is part of the national network of National Institutes of Technology and is named after Madan Mohan Malaviya. MNIT offers engineering, architecture, planning, and management programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

History: The institution traces its origins to 1963, when it was established as Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), Jaipur. In 2007, under the National Institutes of Technology Act, MREC was upgraded to Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, attaining Institutes of National Importance status as part of the NIT system.

Campus and governance: The campus is located in the Malviya Nagar area of Jaipur and features academic buildings, libraries, hostels, and research facilities. MNIT Jaipur is an autonomous public institute funded by the Government of India and operates under the Ministry of Education. It is governed by a Director, with oversight from a Board of Governors, and supported by a network of deans and heads of departments.

Academics: The institute offers undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), and Bachelor of Planning (BPlan). Postgraduate programs include Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MSc), and Master of Business Administration (MBA), along with doctoral programs (PhD) across multiple departments. Admissions follow the standard national entrance tests used by the NIT system, including JEE Main for BTech, GATE for most MTech programs, and appropriate tests for MBA and other offerings.
