MCSE

MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert. It was a professional certification offered by Microsoft as part of its Microsoft Certification program. The designation was aimed at IT professionals who design, deploy, and manage technology solutions built on Microsoft products and technologies. The MCSE credential grew from earlier Microsoft certifications and, in its most widely recognized form, required candidates to hold an associated Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or an equivalent credential and to pass one or more advanced exams covering infrastructure, data management, or cloud technologies. Over time Microsoft offered several MCSE tracks, including Server Infrastructure, Private Cloud, Desktop Infrastructure, and Data Management and Analytics, with exams spanning Windows Server, SQL Server, System Center, and related technologies. The exact requirements varied by track and over time, but the core pattern involved upgrading from a practitioner-level certification to the Expert-level MCSE by completing additional exams or a single comprehensive exam.

In the late 2010s, Microsoft began transitioning to a new, role-based certification model. As a result, many
