M109A1s
The M109A1 is an American self-propelled howitzer that entered service in 1973. It is an upgrade to the original M109 howitzer, featuring a more powerful 155mm M185 howitzer in place of the M109's M126. This enhanced firepower significantly improved its range and accuracy. The M109A1 retained the same chassis and general layout as its predecessor, maintaining commonality of parts and crew training. Its primary role is to provide indirect artillery fire support for armored and infantry units.
The M109A1 is equipped with a crew of four, consisting of a commander, gunner, loader, and driver.
