Løftehøyder

Løftehøyder refers to a Danish safety term that translates to "promise heights" in English. It is a concept used to prevent accidents during the construction and maintenance of high buildings, including hotels, churches, and other residential and commercial structures.

The term originated from a Danish labor union's campaign in the early 19th century to promote safety measures and secure better working conditions for the workers. Workers, especially laborers and stonemasons, were often exposed to hazardous conditions, such as working at heights without proper safety gear or being asked to perform tasks that involved working at or near the rigid and unpadded optimal working height.
