Légzésmér

Légzésmér is a Hungarian term that translates to "breathalyzer" in English. It refers to a device used to measure the amount of alcohol in a person's blood by analyzing their breath. These devices are commonly used by law enforcement to detect and measure intoxication levels in drivers, helping to enforce drunk driving laws.

The principle behind a légzésmér is based on the fact that when alcohol is consumed, a portion of it is absorbed into the bloodstream and then exhaled in the breath. The device contains a sensor that reacts chemically or electrochemically with the alcohol vapor in the breath sample. This reaction produces an electrical signal that is proportional to the amount of alcohol present. The device then displays the result, typically in milligrams of alcohol per liter of breath (mg/L) or as a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) percentage.
