Lääneranna

Lääneranna is a rural municipality (vald) in Pärnu County, located in southwestern Estonia. It lies along the Baltic Sea coast and includes a number of villages and small settlements within its borders. The municipality is part of the Pärnu region, characterized by a mix of agricultural land, forests and coastal landscapes.

Formation and administration: Lääneranna was established in 2017 during the administrative reform of Estonia. It was created by merging the former Hanila Parish, Koonga Parish and Lihula Parish. The administrative centre is the small borough of Lihula, where the municipal government is based.
