Luqa
Luqa is a small village in southern Malta, an island country in the central Mediterranean Sea. It is situated approximately 25 kilometers south of Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Luqa is a rural village with a population of around 9,000 people, according to the 2020 census. The village is situated in the southern part of the island, in the ten parishes and three municipalities area, and is part of the Luqa, Żurrieq and Ħal Tarxien local councils.
The name "Luqa" is believed to be derived from the Saint Luke's feast day, which is celebrated
