Luovanhempiin

Luovanhempiin is a fictional Finnish cooperative and movement centered on the creative use of hemp in design and manufacturing. The name combines "luova" (creative) with the illative form "hempiin," signaling a philosophy of bringing hemp into everyday creative practice. The concept emphasizes sustainability, circular economy principles, and open collaboration among designers, farmers, mills, and researchers.

Historically, Luovanhempiin is described in this article as having been founded in Helsinki in 2021 by a group of designers and hemp farmers seeking to build local value chains and share knowledge on hemp materials. The project gained visibility through exhibitions, design challenges, and pilot projects that demonstrated hemp fibers, hurds, and biocomposites as alternatives to conventional materials.

Activities and programs include a material library with hemp fibers, yarns, textiles, paper, and composites; design residencies; community workshops; and an online marketplace for hemp-based products.
