Luminaleaceae is a hypothetical family of flowering plants, proposed but not formally recognized within standard botanical classification systems. The concept of Luminaleaceae arose in some theoretical phylogenetic studies exploring early angiosperm divergence. It was envisioned as a basal lineage, potentially related to other early branching families like Amborellaceae, Nymphaeaceae, or Austrobaileyales.

The proposed characteristics of Luminaleaceae were largely speculative, often inferring traits from molecular data and comparative morphology of extant basal angiosperms. These might include features such as trimerous floral parts, a carpel that was either apocarpous or syncarpous with a superior ovary, and specific leaf venation patterns. The geographical distribution and ecological niche of such a family remain undefined, as it is primarily a conceptual construct rather than a group with empirically described members.

The lack of concrete fossil evidence or a distinct suite of shared derived traits has prevented Luminaleaceae from gaining acceptance in mainstream botanical taxonomy. Modern phylogenetic analyses, utilizing extensive genetic data, have generally placed extant early angiosperms into well-defined clades that do not include a distinct family named Luminaleaceae.
