Lufttorr
Lufttorr is a nonstandard or fictional unit of pressure that combines the German word luft (air) with torr, the historical unit equal to 1 millimeter of mercury. Because lufttorr is not an officially recognized unit in the International System of Units (SI) or in common scientific practice, its definition and value can vary between texts and contexts. In real-world physics and engineering, pressure is measured in units such as pascals, atmospheres, or torr, with 1 torr defined as 1 mmHg (approximately 133.322 pascals at 0 °C). The term lufttorr is therefore most often encountered in nontechnical writing, speculative fiction, worldbuilding, or hobbyist discussions where authors seek a German-flavored or atmospheric nuance without committing to a precise conversion.
Interpretations of lufttorr are not standardized. Some writers define 1 lufttorr as a fraction or multiple
Relation to other units: lufttorr is conceptually related to the Torr family as a pressure concept, but
