Lowopathy

Lowopathy refers to a system of alternative medicine that claims to treat a variety of ailments using highly diluted substances. Adherents of lowopathy believe that these substances, even when diluted to the point where no original molecules are likely to remain, retain a "memory" or "essence" of the original substance, which can then stimulate the body's natural healing processes. The dilutions used in lowopathy are often extreme, far exceeding those found in conventional homeopathy, with practitioners sometimes using dilutions of 1 part in 10 to the power of 100 or even higher.

The principles of lowopathy are rooted in the concept of "like cures like," a core tenet of homeopathy, suggesting that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can cure similar symptoms in a sick person when administered in a diluted form. However, lowopathy takes this dilution principle to an extreme. Scientific consensus, based on extensive research and analysis, does not support the claims of lowopathy. Numerous studies have failed to demonstrate any effect of lowopathic treatments beyond that of a placebo. The dilutions involved are so high that the probability of a single molecule of the original substance being present in the final preparation is virtually zero, which contradicts established principles of chemistry and physics. Regulatory bodies in many countries do not recognize lowopathy as a legitimate medical treatment.
