Lorikeet

Lorikeets are a group of small to medium-sized, often brightly colored parrots belonging to the subfamily Loriinae. They are native to Australia, New Guinea, parts of Indonesia, and Melanesia. A distinctive characteristic of lorikeets is their specialized tongue, which has a brush-like tip used for feeding on nectar, pollen, and soft fruits. This dietary adaptation makes them important pollinators in their native habitats.
