Looklinnut

Looklinnut, also known as the Lookout Finch, is a small passerine bird native to the Caribbean islands of Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. It is a member of the finch family, Fringillidae, and is closely related to the American Goldfinch. The Looklinnut is a medium-sized bird, typically measuring around 12-13 centimeters in length, with a distinctive yellow and black plumage pattern. The male has a black cap, yellow cheeks, and a black breast with a yellow belly, while the female has a more subdued coloration, with a grayish-brown cap and breast, and a yellow belly.

The Looklinnut is a social bird, often found in small flocks, and is known for its loud, chattering calls. It is a seed-eater, feeding on a variety of seeds, fruits, and insects. The Looklinnut is a cavity-nester, building its nest in tree holes or man-made structures. The female lays 3-4 eggs, which are incubated by both parents for about 12-13 days.
