Loefah

Loefah is a British electronic music producer and DJ, primarily known for his contributions to the dubstep genre. His real name is Dean Bonham. He emerged from the early dubstep scene in Croydon, South London, which was a fertile ground for the development of the genre in the early 2000s.

Bonham's sound is characterized by its deep, sub-bass heavy productions, often incorporating sparse rhythms, reggae influences, and a distinctly minimalist aesthetic. He is recognized for his distinctive use of reverb and delay, creating a spacious and atmospheric soundscape. His early work was instrumental in shaping the "dark" or "deep" dubstep sound, emphasizing atmosphere and bass weight over more aggressive elements.

He has released music on influential labels such as DMZ, Deep Medi Musik, and his own label, Swamp81. Swamp81, founded in 2008, became a platform for him and other artists pushing a more stripped-down, percussive, and bass-focused sound.
