Liikuntasuositus, or physical activity recommendation, refers to the guidelines provided by health authorities to promote physical health and well-being. In Finland, these recommendations are typically outlined by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), and other relevant health organizations. The primary goal of liikuntasuositus is to encourage individuals to engage in regular physical activity to maintain or improve their health.

The general recommendation for adults is to participate in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity per week, or a combination of both. Additionally, muscle-strengthening activities are advised at least two days a week. For children and adolescents, the recommendation is to engage in at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily, which should include a variety of activities that promote fitness, fun, and skill development.
