Lihavoidaan

Lihavoidaan is a Finnish verb meaning to bold or to make text bold. It is used in both active and passive forms; the passive present form lihavoidaan translates roughly as “is bolded” or “will be bolded,” and appears frequently in instructional or editorial contexts to describe formatting steps.

In practice, bolding is a typographic emphasis that increases the visual weight of the text. In digital formats it is achieved in several ways: with font weight changes in word processors and typesetting programs, with HTML markup using the strong or b tags, or with Markdown using **text**. Instructional texts may say "teksti lihavoidaan" to indicate that a portion should be emphasized.
