Lightfading
Lightfading is a term used to describe the gradual decrease in the intensity of light. This phenomenon can occur naturally or be intentionally created. In nature, lightfading is most commonly observed with the setting sun, where daylight slowly diminishes into twilight and then darkness. This transition is due to the Earth's rotation, which causes the sun to appear lower in the sky and its rays to pass through more of the atmosphere, scattering and absorbing the light. Another natural example is the fading of moonlight as clouds pass in front of it.
Artificial lightfading is often employed in various settings. In filmmaking and photography, lighting is carefully controlled
