Liegroepentheorie

Liegroepentheorie, often translated as Lie group theory, is a branch of mathematics that studies Lie groups. A Lie group is a group that is also a differentiable manifold, where the group operations of multiplication and inversion are smooth maps. This combination of algebraic structure (group) and geometric structure (manifold) makes Lie groups fundamental objects in many areas of mathematics and physics.
